The European Commission has awarded the Technological Center Leitat, through a public competition, as the entity responsible for developing a new Ecolabel (stamp or label that ensures the environmental performance of a product that meets the criteria laid down at European level) test for laundry detergents . As the project leader, Leitat will compare two current tests (AISE minimum protocol for comparative testing laundry detergent and laundry detergent EU Ecolabel performance test) to determine the effectiveness of laundry detergents and develop a new proposal to unify the criteria of both.

During the 16th and 17th of March, the facilities of the Technological Center Leitat will host the third meeting of the consortium responsible for implementing the project FIBNATEX. This initiative, financed through the European program Interreg IVB SUDOE, aims to create innovative technical textiles made from natural fibers of hemp products for more environmentally friendly than conventional textiles made from synthetic fibers.

On the 24th and 25th of March there will be a meeting for monitoring of the project consortium REPHATER. The meeting, the first to be organized after the start of the project in September 2009, will discuss technical and administrative matters. This work session of the consortium, consisting of three Spanish firms (Qnorm, Can Corder and cycle), two Englishwomen (Aguacare and C-Tech innovation) and the Technological Center Leitat itself, will take place at the company’s headquarters Can Corder, in Lliçà de Munt (Barcelona).
