What is Inno+Talent25?
It is a programme backed by
HP and
LEITAT, started in 2010. It lasts two years, in which the 25 graduates who join the scheme work on R&D projects, extendible to Operations, at the
HP facilities, with a salary and a training programme in technology, innovation project management and interpersonal skills. The training will be provided by the
La Salle Business Engineering School during working hours.
Who it is aimed at
Graduates in higher engineering and graduates with master's degrees, primarily in the fields of mechanical, electronic, IT and telecommunications engineering, and also mathematics, physics and industrial design.
What does the job consist of?
Working in the
Hewlett Packard organisation in Sant Cugat in the LFP (Large-format Printers) R&D department, extendible to Operations & Marketing, in activities corresponding to their speciality.
For example, R&D in mechanical and printing subsystems, high-speed digital electronics or high- and low-level software, including development, generation of alternatives, prototyping, industrialisation, problem analysis, experiment design and qualification for production. Or industrialisation of the project, customer assistance, detection of opportunities, defining and implementing marketing strategies etc., in the Operations & Marketing Department.
Contract type
Two-year work-experience contract with
Leitat with a gross
salary of € 22,000 per year plus additional benefits.

Requisites
Project submitted by the time you are appointed (1 Nov 2012), good academic record and high standard of English. No more than two years have gone by since you completed your studies and you have not previously had a work-experience contract.
TRAINING
Training is one of the fundamental aspects of the
Inno+Talent25 Programme as a means for the participants to achieve the talent development objective. It will be provided by the prestigious
La Salle Business Engineering School during working hours with a total duration of around 550 hours.
The training includes 6 different blocks:
Block 1: Technological environment
- The general environment of the technology company.
- Specific modules on mechanical, electronic or digital workflow technology.
Block 2: Innovation Management
- Introduction to innovation.
- New product-creation techniques.
- Transforming ideas into value.
- Innovation protection and technological surveillance.
Block 3: Project Management
This block will consist of a total of 160 hrs which correspond to 50 % of the
La Salle Business Engineering School's Master's in Project Management, whose credits are recognised in the new Bologna Process.
Block 4: Other business areas
- Business finances.
- Marketing + Sales.
- Supply Chain Management.
Block 5: Personal Skills
- Time management and organisation of work.
- Interpersonal communication.
- Conflict management.
- Effective leadership.
Advantages
The aim of the programme is for the recent graduate, on completion of the scheme, to become a highly qualified professional, capable of responding to the needs of an industrial model based on research and development, able to be successfully incorporated into companies at the forefront of the sector.
The graduates that join the programme will work in the aforementioned departments at the
HP Barcelona facilities. The
HP Barcelona division is the corporation's world headquarters for R&D, Marketing and Operations for the entire range of large-format printers, covering a wide variety of markets around the world.
Graduates interested in developing their professional career in the field of R&D have the opportunity to train and work with Europe's best large-format printer engineers, collaborating on the design and construction of new products and solutions involving ink injection, colour and image, high-speed digital electronics, high-precision servo-controlled mechanical systems, optical and image sensors and digital workflows.
The training will be provided by the
La Salle Business Engineering School. The content will range from technical aspects and general management to training in interpersonal skills including 50% of the official credits for the Master's in Project Management.
WORK ACTIVITY
The recent graduates who join the programme will work in the R&D and Operations Departments at the
HP Barcelona facilities in the locality of Sant Cugat del Vallès. The
HP Barcelona division is the corporation's world headquarters for large-format printers, covering a wide range of markets and needs around the world.
The programme is an opportunity for recent graduates interested in developing their talent by working in an international environment, engaging with stakeholders all over the world and establishing common objectives to overcome technological challenges.
The kind of activities normally undertaken are as follows, depending on the profile of the candidate:
- Opportunity to participate in research and development activities for mechanical and printing subsystems in ink-injection technology, digital electrical circuits or the digital architecture of large-format printers.
- Learn and participate in the experiment design processes needed to determine the system's functional variables.
- Be a part of the development team for a subsystem throughout the development cycle of the product, including generating alternatives, prototyping, final design, monitoring of industrialisation phases, analysis of problems and qualification for production.
- Work as a team with the other disciplines involved in the design and validation of the system in a multifunctional and multicultural environment.
- Research into technological or market trends in the corresponding discipline.
- Collaboration with experts in specific disciplines.
- Management of tasks required in the development of a new product, involving contact with clients or providers of services or components.
- Working with the supply chain, with providers all over the world and in various technologies, defining, updating and improving the product's industrialisation process.
- Interact with customer services in technical assistance processes, learning their needs and defining the processes required to offer technical assistance.
